Why did you get into coaching?
Started coaching when I gave up playing in 1995. There weren't any goal keeping coaches then. So wanted to start giving youth goal keepers coaching to help improve their skills

Why did you get into coaching?
From the moment I started football at just three years old, I naturally gravitated towards being a goalkeeper. I’ve spent my whole grassroots journey as a keeper, and now playing at U16s, I’ve had the chance to work with three different goalkeeper coaches over the last ten years. Each of them has inspired me in different ways and really shaped my passion for the position. Their influence is what first sparked my interest in goalkeeper coaching. I loved how they helped me grow not just as a player, but as a person, and it made me want to pass that same experience on to others. That’s why I’m planning to go to college next year to develop my coaching skills even further while continuing to play. Coaching feels like the natural next step in my football journey.

Advice you’d give a young player?
• Block out the noise. As a keeper, you’ll hear a lot of opinions—good and bad. Focus on your game, not the voices around you. • Develop a thick skin. Goalkeepers get judged differently, and mistakes stand out more. Accept it, learn from it, and move on. • Remember: the ball got past 10 other players before it reached you. Don’t carry the blame alone. Football is a team game. • Trust your instincts. Some of your best saves will come from reacting naturally and believing in yourself. • Understand that not every goal is your fault. Some shots are unstoppable or simply spectacular. Respect the strike and reset for the next moment. Being a keeper is tough, but it’s also one of the most rewarding positions on the pitch. Keep growing, keep learning, and enjoy every minute of it.
