FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AS Football Academy Announces Official Partnership with Waterlooville AFC
AS Football Academy is extremely proud and excited to announce an official partnership with Waterlooville AFC, marking a significant step forward in the Academy’s continued commitment to player development and community football.
Following a recent meeting between Lee, Owner of Waterlooville AFC, and Andy Sillence, Owner and Company Director of AS Football Academy, both parties are delighted to confirm this collaboration. As part of the partnership, Andy Sillence will also be taking on a role within Waterlooville AFC, contributing directly to the club’s Youth Development programme.
Andy Sillence brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from previous club roles within the men’s game, as well as long-standing involvement in youth football. His connection with Waterlooville AFC is both professional and personal:
“I’ve known Lee for a number of years in and around men’s football, and I’m really excited to bring my knowledge and guidance to Waterlooville AFC. I also have fond memories of playing my grassroots football and school cup finals at the old Waterlooville Football Club ground back in the 1980s. To now be partnering with the club feels very special.”
The partnership is already proving positive, with strong interest from several clubs looking to align with Waterlooville AFC ahead of the upcoming season - 2026/27.
As part of this collaboration, all AFC Waterlooville Youth players across all age groups will be welcomed to attend AS Football Academy centres for additional training and development opportunities, further supporting their progression both on and off the pitch.
This partnership represents a shared vision between AS Football Academy and Waterlooville AFC to raise standards, invest in youth development, and create clear pathways for young players within the local football community and into the Waterlooville AFC first team.
Further updates will be shared in due course.
