At AS Football Academy, the safety, welfare, development and overall experience of every child who attends our sessions is extremely important to us.

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards across the academy, we have recently undertaken a comprehensive review of our policies and procedures.

Following this review, we have updated and, where necessary, amended a number of our policies to ensure that they continue to reflect the way AS Football Academy operates and the standards we expect from everyone involved with our academy.

Why Do We Have Policies?

Policies are an important part of running a professional football academy.

They provide clear guidance and expectations for our coaches, staff, parents, carers and players, while helping us maintain a safe, inclusive, respectful and positive environment for everyone.

Our policies are designed to ensure that everyone understands their responsibilities and knows what procedures are in place should an issue, concern, accident, complaint or safeguarding matter arise.

They also help us to maintain consistency across all of our sessions, programmes, venues and services.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

The welfare and safeguarding of children remains one of our highest priorities.

We want every child attending AS Football Academy to feel safe, supported, respected and able to enjoy their football in a positive environment.

Our Safeguarding Children Policy sets out our approach to safeguarding and the responsibilities of those involved in delivering and supporting our programmes.

We also have policies covering areas such as accident reporting, risk assessment and photography and videography, all of which contribute towards maintaining appropriate standards of safety and child welfare.

Photography and Videography

We have also reviewed our Photography & Videography Policy.

We understand that photographs and videos can be a positive way of capturing children’s football experiences and achievements. However, we also recognise that not every parent or child is comfortable with their image being captured or shared.

For this reason, we ask all parents, carers, players and visitors to familiarise themselves with our policy and to respect the wishes and privacy of other families.

Photography or filming at our sessions should not take place without the appropriate permission.

This is particularly important because we have children and families who may not wish for their child’s image to be photographed or recorded.

We therefore ask everyone to work with us in maintaining a respectful and safeguarding-focused environment.

Parents, Carers and Player Behaviour

Football should be enjoyable, encouraging and positive for everyone.

Our Children Parent Behaviour Policy sets out the standards of behaviour that we expect from children, parents, carers and those attending our sessions.

We want our players to develop not only as footballers, but also as individuals.

That means creating an environment where children can learn, make mistakes, develop confidence and enjoy playing football without unnecessary pressure or negativity.

We expect everyone involved with AS Football Academy to treat our coaches, staff, players, parents, carers, venue staff and other members of the football community with respect.

Complaints and Feedback

We recognise that occasionally concerns or issues may arise.

Our Complaints & Feedback Policy provides a clear process for raising concerns and giving feedback.

We welcome constructive feedback because it allows us to continually review what we do and identify areas where improvements can be made.

If you have a concern, we encourage you to follow the appropriate process outlined within our policy so that we can consider the matter properly and respond appropriately.

Our aim is always to deal with concerns professionally, fairly and respectfully.

Equality and Inclusion

AS Football Academy is committed to providing an environment where children of all abilities and backgrounds can participate in football.

Our Equality & Diversity Policy reflects our commitment to treating people fairly, with dignity and respect.

Football should be accessible, welcoming and enjoyable, and we expect everyone involved with the academy to contribute towards creating an inclusive environment.

Data Protection and Privacy

We also have a GDPR Policy outlining our approach to the handling and protection of personal information.

We understand the importance of protecting the information provided to us by parents, carers and players and ensuring that personal data is handled appropriately.

Our policies provide further information regarding how we approach these responsibilities.

Risk Assessment and Accident Reporting

The safety of our players, coaches and other participants is extremely important.

Our Risk Assessment Policy and Accident Reporting Policy form part of our wider approach to identifying potential risks, maintaining appropriate safety procedures and responding appropriately should an accident or incident occur.

These procedures support our coaches and staff in maintaining a safe environment across our sessions and activities.

Cancellation Policy

Our Cancellation Policy has also been reviewed.

When booking an AS Football Academy session, course or service, parents and carers agree to our terms and conditions, including the relevant cancellation requirements.

We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with the cancellation policy before making a booking, as this helps avoid any misunderstanding regarding cancellations, notice periods and refunds.

Please Take the Time to Read Our Policies

We strongly encourage all parents and carers to take a few minutes to visit our website and read through our policies.

The policies are there not simply as formal documents, but to ensure that everyone understands the standards, procedures and expectations that help us operate AS Football Academy professionally.

Our current policies can be accessed via the dedicated Policies section of our website:

Working Together

A successful football academy is about much more than what happens on the pitch.

It is about creating an environment where children can develop their football, build confidence, make friends, enjoy themselves and feel safe and supported.

That requires everyone to play their part.

We ask our coaches, staff, parents, carers and players to familiarise themselves with our policies and to work together to uphold the standards expected at AS Football Academy.

We will continue to review our policies and procedures as part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, professionalism, inclusion and the continual improvement of the academy.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us maintain a positive, safe, respectful and enjoyable environment for all of our players.
